Phyllis Gayheart’s Dare He Goes relaxed comfortably off the early pace
before circling the field the win the Saturday feature. Seven Ohio-bred
allowance/optional claiming horses dueled as Jeramiah John and Noble Cup
battled for the early lead. Turning for home Dare He Goes rallied around the
leaders and drew off for ½ length score. The running time for the six
furlongs over the fast track was 1:12 3/5.
Ridden by Paul Melancon for trainer Troy Gayheart, Dare He Goes returned
$12.20, $5.40 and $2.80. Crafty Jay stalked the early pace to finish second
and paid $4.20 and $2.40. Thinksheshot closed well for third and returned
his backers $2.20 as the wagering favorite.

Sailor’s Dream Ships Off
To Victory In Grove City

Owner-trainer Rodney Faulkner’s Sailor’s Dream used a change of tactics to
her advantage to win the featured race at Beulah Park on Friday. Seven
claiming fillies and mares dueled as Secret Expectation dashed off to a
large early lead. Uncharacteristically near the rear of the field, Sailor’s
Dream picked up steam around the turn and powered to the front at the top of
the lane. Drawing away to a convincing 10-1/4-length score, Sailor’s Dream
covered the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:13 3/5.
Ridden by Paul Melancon, Sailor’s Dream paid $3.60, 2.40 and $2.10 as the
wagering favorite. Charlie’s Charmer closed well for second and returned
$3.60 and $2.40. Dinkers Doll stalked the leaders to finish third and paid
his backers $3.20.

My Way Stables’ Expected Flirt settled comfortably behind the quick early
pace before pouncing on the leaders down the lane to win the Wednesday
feature at Beulah Park. Seven starter allowance runners dueled as Cayenne
Red and Blazing Forest battled for the lead. Midway around the turn,
Expected Flirt swung into action and wore down Cayenne Red in the final 100
yards. Winning by 1-3/4 lengths, Expected Flirt covered the six furlongs
over the fast track in 1:12 2/5.
Piloted by Jorge Collazo, Sr. for trainer Rinzy Nocero, Expected Flirt paid
$10.00, $3.20 and $2.40. Heavily favored Cayenne Red fought gamely for
second and returned $2.10 and $2.10. Yankee Road stalked the pace to finish
third and had a payoff of $3.20.
Beulah Park posted a record handle of $3.21 million on a day in which
brothers, Cesar Camaque and Marco Ccamaque, dead heat in race two (see photo
below).

Smokin’ John Strides Away with Leg One of Bluegrass Warrior Distance
Series

Mitchell Reed’s Smokin’ John gained command early and drew away impressively
to win the Tuesday feature at Beulah Park. Ten high class claimers clashed
with Smokin’ John setting the early tempo then dashing away comfortably for
a 5-1/2 length victory. The running time for the 1 1/8 miles on the sloppy
track was 1:53 4/5.
Ridden by Cesar Camaque for trainer William D. Cowans, Smokin’ John paid
$7.00, $3.80 and $3.40. One Smooth Ride closed well for second and returned
$5.80 and $3.00. Arctic Sand stalked the pace before fading to third and had
a payoff of $4.20.

'Roses' Bloom in Winter at Beulah Park

Amanda Cowans and Steve Culler’s Rose Wars grabbed the lead early and fended
off the competition to win the Monday feature. Seven starter allowance
runners battled as Rose Wars took the lead with Bliss Landing in close
pursuit just off of his flank in second. Appearing defeated with 3/16 of a
mile to go, Rose Wars dug in gamely and surged past Bliss Landing in the
final strides. Winning by a neck, Rose Wars covered the one mile over the
fast track in 1:41 4/5.
Ridden by Marco Ccamaque for conditioner William D. Cowans, Rose Wars paid
$9.60, $4.40 and $2.60. Bliss Landing held on to second and returned $5.40
and $4.80. Western Drums closed well for third and paid his backers $2.40.
