R S Express Right on Time for Feature Race Victory

Owner-trainer Jerry Rawlins’ R S Express pressed the early pace and took charge in the final furlongs to win at Beulah Park on Wednesday. Nine Ohio bred allowance/optional claiming horses dueled as Here Comes Bragg and Cuddlebrink clashed for the lead. Moving through the lane Wirebender took a short lead before R S Express powered past in the final strides. Winning by 1 ½ lengths R S Express covered the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:12 3/5.

Ridden by Joseph Sanchez, R S Express paid $13.60, $7.20 and $4.00. Wirebender dug in gamely for second and returned $3.20 and $2.40. Halory Hunted closed well for third and paid his backers $3.40.

Polish Fantasy takes a nip at the guest of honor Gotta Speed Tuesday at Beulah Park. Gotta
Speed led the post parade in the 5th race in honor of legendary jockey and outrider Paul Ward
who passed away on this day in 2005. Polish Fantasy won the 6 furlong maiden race.

Owner-trainer Ricky Faulkner’s By the Sword sat behind the early speed made his customary move into the final turn and drew away comfortably to victory at Beulah Park on Tuesday. Seven classy claimers clashed as Cowboy’s Limelight and Oreo Hunter dueled through the opening stages. Midway down the backstretch the final time By the Sword began to reel in the leaders and took charge with less than a half mile to run. Winning by 3 ½ lengths By the Sword covered the 1 ¾ miles over the fast track in 3:08 3/5.

Ridden by Lyndon Hannigan, By the Sword paid $4.80 $3.00 and $2.10. Convexity stalked the early pace to finish second and returned $4.60 and $3.20. I’m Handsom finished third and had a payoff of $3.00.

Money Train Steamrolls to Victory at Beulah

William Akers and Michael Rone’s Money Train settled just behind the dueling leaders before swinging into action to win the Monday feature. Six Ohio bred allowance runners squared off Yulans Gold and Sea Grass battled for the top spot. Moving through the lane Sea Grass took command only to be overtaken by Money Train in the final strides. Winning by ½ of a length Money Train covered the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:13 3/5.

Ridden by Yuri Yaranga for trainer Chester Smith, Money Train returned $4.60, $3.00 and $2.40 as the wagering favorite. Sea Grass held gamely to second and paid $4.20 and $2.40. Rockin Eddie closed well for third and paid his backers $2.40.
