Golden Izzy Runs Circles Around Foes in Feature

Owner-trainer Dale Shade’s Golden Izzy settled just behind the early pace before striking the front and drawing off to victory on Saturday. Five Ohio bred allowance/optional claiming fillies and mares battled as Cloud Forty Nine and Seeking the Honey clashed early. With a half of a mile to run Golden Izzy surged to the front and cleared off through the home stretch. Winning by 1 ¼ lengths Golden Izzy covered the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:12 4/5.

Ridden by Louis Stokes, Golden Izzy paid $12.20, $5.20 and $2.80. Peggy’s Ruby pressed the pace to finish second and returned $4.20 and $2.20 Check the Math closed well for third and paid her backers $2.20.

Rio Branco Rolls to Victory in Feature

Scioto Farm’s Rio Branco took charge from the start and strolled to victory at Beulah Park on Wednesday. Nine allowance runners dueled as Rio Branco grabbed the lead with Baileys Ire pressing from second. Moving through the turn Rio Branco edged away from Baileys Ire and drew off for the win. Winning by 3 ¼ lengths Rio Branco covered the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:12 2/5.

Ridden by Yuri Yaranga for trainer Ivan Vazquez, Rio Branco returned $12.60, $5.40 and $4.80. Baileys Ire dug in for second and paid $5.20 and $4.00. Mililani chased the pacesetters to finish third and returned her backers $4.00.

Appygolucky Continues to Dominate Beulah Oval

Owner-trainer Charlie Lawson’s Appygolucky collected his fifteenth win at Beulah Park by dashing to victory on Tuesday. Seven allowance runners battled as Dash of Fame and Freire Tail dueled for the lead. Nearing the top of the lane Dash for Fame drifted towards the center of the track and Appygolucky shot through to victory. Winning by 6 ½ lengths Appygolucky covered the six furlongs in 1:12 over the fast track.

Ridden by Edgar Paucar, Appygolucky paid $12.20, $5.00 and $3.00. Goodbye I’m Gone closed well for second and returned $7.60 and $3.80. Dash of Fame faded to third and paid his backers $2.40 as the wagering favorite.

Molotov Dashes to Victory at Beulah Park
April 3, 2006

Doug Green’s Molotov grabbed the lead from the start and pulled away to win the Monday feature. Eleven allowance runners dueled as Molotov shot to the lead with Crypteeze and Bear Trick chasing from just off of the pace. Near the top of the lane Molotov powered away strongly and opened up a big lead. Winning by 3 ¼ lengths Molotov covered the 5 ½ furlongs over the muddy track in 1:06 3/5.

Ridden by Edgar Paucar for trainer Robin Keller, Molotov paid $12.20, $6.80 and $5.40. Polish Fantasy closed well for second and returned $4.60 and $2.80. Crypteeze faded to third and had a show payoff of $4.40.
