Two in a Row For Count On My Word in Ruff / Kirchberg Memorial At Beulah

My Word defended his title in the $40,000 Ruff / Kirchberg Memorial with a
rousing stretch drive to collar Go Johnny Go in the final strides at Beulah
Park on Saturday. Seven accredited Ohio bred runners battled with R S
Express taking command early. Racing down the back stretch, R S Express
continued to lead as Go Johnny Go began to cut into the margin. Taking
charge at the top of the lane, Go Johnny Go began to pull away until Count
On My Word flew past him with less that 50 yards to race. Winning by ¾ of a
length, Count On My Word covered the 1 ¼ mile over the fast track in 2:05
4/5.
Piloted to victory by
Ernesto Oro for trainer Bobby Ranwick, Jr. Count On My Word paid $5.00,
$2.60 and $2.10 as the second choice in the wagering. Go Johnny Go finished
second and returned $2.40 and $2.10. R S Express faded to third and had a
payoff of $3.00.

Whitewater Maze Resurgent In Friday Feature

Daniels’ Whitewater Maze had to battle to keep her unbeaten record at Beulah
Park intact on Friday. Seven Ohio bred allowance fillies and mares set sail
as Whitewater Maze and Bright Spot dueled for the lead. Passed by Four Speed
at the top of the lane, Whitewater Maze dug in and pushed past Four Speed to
retake the lead with less than 70 yards to run. Winning by a head,
Whitewater Maze covered the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:12 2/5.
Ridden by Ivan Gonzalez for
trainer Ivan Vazquez, Whitewater Maze returned $4.40, $2.80 and $2.40. Four
Speed finished second and paid $4.60 and $3.40. Bright Spot faded to third
and returned her backers $3.00.

Crafty Wac Impresses Crowd With Featured Win

Owner-trainer Kerny
Hancock’s Crafty Wac improved her record to three for six lifetime at Beulah
Park with her victory in the Thursday feature. Eight starter allowance
fillies and mares dueled as My Favorite Girl and Parthenope set a wickedly
fast early pace. Moving around the last turn, My Favorite Girl and
Parthenope began to fade and Crafty Wac swept by them with less than 200
yards to go. Darting away to an 8 ¼ length win, the running time for 1 Mile
and 70 yards over the fast track was 1:45 3/5.
Guided to victory by Jorge
Collazo, Jr., Crafty Wac paid $8.80, $5.60 and $4.60. Parthenope held on to
second and returned $6.40 and $5.80. Golden Appeal closed well for third and
paid her backers $8.80.

Sweet Victory For French Peach At Beulah Park

Belford Farm LLC’s French
Peach took control early to win the featured race at Beulah on Wednesday.
Eight allowance runners squared off as French Peach dashed away to a quick
early lead. Turning for home, Baileys Ire began to cut into the French
Peach’s advantage but she dug in gamely and turned back the challenger.
Winning by ¾ of a length, French Peach covered the 5 ½ furlongs over the
sloppy track in 1:06 2/5.
Ridden by Edgar Paucar for
trainer Steven Belford, French Peach paid $5.80, $3.40 and $2.60. Baileys
Ire battled on for second and returned $5.80 and $3.60. See Ashleigh Run
closed well for third and had a payoff of $3.60.

Convexity Conquers Competition in Leg 3 of the Bluegrass Warrior
Distance Series

Lawson’s Convexity pushed his career record to five for eight lifetime at
Beulah with an impressive victory in the featured race on Tuesday. Nine
classy claimers battled over the 1 ½ mile marathon with Convexity and
Merryhadalilwolf dueling on the lead. Moving through the lane the first time
Convexity began to edge away and drew off to a large lead. Winning by 2-
¾-length, Convexity covered the distance over the sloppy track in 2:35 4/5.
The Bluegrass Warrior
Distance Series is a set of five races contested during the Beulah Park Fall
meet for claiming horse. Each leg extends in distance from 1 1/8 to 2 Miles.
Leg 4 will take place on November 29, 2005 at the distance of 1 ¾ Miles.
Ridden by apprentice Josh
Radosevich, Convexity paid $7.00, $4.00 and $2.80 as the second wagering
choice. Shoo Brush closed from last to finish second and returned $4.80 and
$3.20. Littlemagbrother stalked the pace for third and paid his backers
$5.20.
