Korbyn Gold Sparkles in Beulah Feature
December 3, 2005

Billy Hays’ Korbyn Gold started slowly before charging to the lead to win the featured race at Beulah Park on Saturday. Five top-notch allowance runners clashed as Yankee Road jumped out to a quick leader. From his inside post position, Korbyn Gold sped by the leaders and began to pull away around the turn. Drawing clear to a 1-½-length victory, Korbyn Gold dashed the 5 ½ furlongs over the fast track in 1:03 4/5. The running time was one of the fastest of the Fall meet.

Piloted by Jose Calo for trainer Joe Woodard, Korbyn Gold returned $3.20, $2.60 and $2.10 as the wagering favorite. Yankee Road held well for second and paid $3.80 and $2.20. Catlaunch finished third and returned his backers $2.10.

Expected Flirt Charms Competition in Feature
December 2, 2005

My Way Stables’ Expected Flirt grabbed the early lead and never looked back in victory at Beulah Park on Friday. Eight starter allowance runners dueled as Expected Flirt took charge early with Cuddlebrink and R S Express in pursuit. Midway down the backstretch, Expected Flirt slowly edged away from the field and powered home a 17-1/2-length winner. The running time for the one mile over the fast track was 1:40 1/5.

Ridden by Jorge Collazo, Sr. for trainer Rinzy Nocero, Expected Flirt paid $6.80, $3.20 and $2.40. Mean Kisser closed strongly for second and returned $3.60 and $2.40. Convexity finished third and had a payoff of $2.40.

Sophette Strong in Victory at Beulah
December 1, 2005

Matthew McGinnis’ Sophette allowed the speedy leaders to tire each other out before closing strongly to gain the win in the Thursday feature. Ten starter allowance runners dueled as Parthenope and Crafty Wac battled for the early lead. Moving into the final turn Sophette began to reel in the leaders and dashed by with less than 100 yards to run. Drawing off to a 5-3/4-length win, Sophette covered the mile over the good track in 1:40.

Ridden by Christian Rojas for trainer Harold Acres, Sophette paid $12.00, $6.60 and $3.80. Champagne Now finished second and returned $34.60 and $13.40. Peggy’s Ruby stalked the pace to finish third and returned her backers $5.20.

Dare He Goes to the Winner’s Circle in Feature
November 30, 2005

Phyllis Gayheart’s Dare He Goes relaxed off of quick early fractions before swooping down upon the leaders to win the featured race at Beulah Park on Wednesday. Eight Ohio bred allowance runners clashed as Notice of Appeal and Turn the Page contested the early lead. With less than 200 yards to race Dare He Goes surged to the front and cleared off to a 5-1/2-length victory. The running time for the six furlongs over the muddy track was 1:11.

Ridden by Paul Melancon for trainer Troy Gayheart, Dare He Goes paid $31.60, $9.80 and $6.40. Notice of Appeal faded to second and returned $4.00 and $2.80. Noble Maxx closed promisingly for third and returned his backers $5.20

Littlemagbrother Enjoys the Distance in Leg Four of Bluegrass Warrior Distance Series
November 29, 2005

M.Y. Stables, Inc.’s Littlemagbrother settled comfortably near the rear of the field before pouncing on the leaders to win the Tuesday feature at Beulah Park. Eight classy claimers squared off as Access Approved and Better Road dueling for the lead thorough the opening stages. Moving around the final turn, Mannie’s Mistake had assumed command only to be overtaken by Littlemagbrother and Shoo Brush with ¼ of a mile to run. Drawing clear to a 2 ¾ length victory, Littlemagbrother covered the 1 ¾ miles over the sloppy track in 3:02 4/5.

The Bluegrass Warrior Distance Series is a set of five races run during the Fall meet at Beulah Park. Each race extends in distance from 1 1/8 to 2 miles. The fifth and final leg is set for December 20th at the distance of 2 miles.

Ridden by Edgar Paucar for trainer Mike Nance, Littlemagbrother paid $25.00, $4.60 and $2.60. Shoo Brush finished second and returned $2.20 and $2.10. Mannie’s Mistake faded to third and returned his backers $2.40.
