GROVE CITY, OH – The recently concluded Beulah Park Winter/Spring live thoroughbred meet registered a record shattering 34% increase in total money wagered.

A total of $134,065,992 was pushed through the mutuel machines, registering an all-time, all-sources betting record for the central Ohio thoroughbred track. Of that amount, a total of $112,983,481 was wagered on Beulah Park’s races both on and off-track during the winter/spring run. Last year, for the same time-frame, a total of $84,346,729 was bet.

The average daily handle on Beulah races was an all time high of $1,506,445.

“We couldn’t be happier with the results,” smiled Beulah Park Vice President and General Manager Mike Weiss. “We had a fair weather, full fields and our staff really worked at making the meet a success.”

One of the highlights of the Beulah Park Winter/Spring session was the introduction of the extremely popular 25-cent Fortune 6 wager. Presented by WinTicket.com, the Fortune 6 drew rave reviews and produced the World Record 25-cent payout of $179,072 for a single 25-cent bet in March.

The Fortune 6 is being offered daily by River Downs and Thistledown.

Beulah Park is open seven days a week for simulcast wagering. Live racing returns to Beulah Park October 6, 2006.
